Information regarding booking courses

We provide courses in aestethic orientations such as music, theater, dance, art, photography & moving images, textile & design and contemporary circus.

Borås Kulturskola is primarily intended for children and young people registered in Borås Municipality. Adults may be admitted if space allows. Most teaching takes place at one of our three locations:

• Simonsland, Skarabporgsvägen 1B, centrum
• Hässlehuset, Våglängdsgatan 5, Hässleholmen
• Musikens Hus, Stora vägen 4, Fristad

We cannot always provide courses at your school due to several circumstances such as logistic, schedule, et cetera. Therefore be sure to plan that the course will take place at any of the locations stated above.

Register an account in StudyAlong

To book a course, you need an account. Register through our student system, StudyAlong.

1. Click “Log in”
2. Create an account using Mobile BankID
3. Enter your email address and mobile number
4. Accept the terms and click “Create account”

Once your main account is ready, you can add the children who will attend courses.

• Click “Create account” next to the child’s name (the system often suggests names based on your registered address).
• Contact information for the participant: You may use your own email and phone number for the child by checking the boxes “Use my email address/my phone number”.
• Consent: Indicate whether you approve that the participant may appear in photos or recordings within the activities.
• Save: Click “Create account” to complete the child’s registration.

Tip: If you choose not to add a child during the initial registration, the system will remind you when you book the child’s first course.

• Congratulations — you now have a StudyAlong account and can search for courses in the catalogue!

If you have trouble creating an account, it may be due to following circumstances:

• You need to be registered in the Swedish tax agency in order to create an account in StudyAlong.
  
• Please contact Borås Kulturskola if you do not have a swedish personal identity number, coordination number or if you have protected identity.
• Only the legal guardian registered with the Tax Agency can add a child to their profile (applies to children under 18).
• If the student is over 18, we recommend creating their own account or contacting Kulturskolan to add them to your account.
  
• You cannot book or pay for courses in StudyAlong's mobile app.

Booking a course

Visit our course catalogue External link..

• Add the course to your shopping cart.
• If you don’t want to add more courses, click “Continue”.
• Add the student to the selected course.
• Choose Swedbank Pay for Swish or card payment (you can use Swedbank Pay even if you have another bank).
• To complete the booking, check the box confirming that you have read and accepted the terms. Finish by clicking “Complete booking”. Your course is now booked.
  

Do you want to use Fritidskortet?

You can use it to pay all or part of the course fee. Note that you can only book one child at a time.

At checkout, select the Fritidskortet-button. You will be redirected to Fritidskortet's website, where you fill in your details.

Important: When you are finished, click “Åter till förening” to go back and complete your booking. If you do not do this, the booking will not be registered.

Accept the terms and complete the booking.

Please note: To use Fritidskortet when booking a course with us, the booking must be made through our student system — StudyAlong.

About Fritidskortet

Fritidskortet can be used to pay for approved activities for children aged 7–16 during the current calendar year. The following applies from 5 January 2026:

• The amount is 550 SEK per child and calendar year.
• Households that received housing allowance the previous year may receive 2,500 SEK per child.
• Fritidskortet can only be used by those with a Swedish personal identity number.
• The legal guardian in the household where the child is registered may use the Fritidskortet.

Please note: To use Fritidskortet when booking a course with us, the booking must be made through our course catalogue in StudyAlong. When paying, select the Fritidskortet option. You will be redirected to Fritidskortet's website — fill in your details and then click “Åter till förening”. You will then return to the checkout and can complete your payment.
