Welcome to Borås Kulturskola! We provide courses in aesthetic s
tudies such as music, dance, art, photography & moving images, textile & design and contemporary circus.
Our mission
Borås Kulturskola aims to be a leading example for the future of cultural schools in both education and work processes. Our work is guided by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and a child‑centered perspective. We welcome all students, regardless of disability, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, age, or socioeconomic background.
Amongst our courses you can also participate in our Open Concept where you create art & crafts or produce music to help make children’s and young people’s free time meaningful. These activates are free of charge to participate in. Please contact us for more information kulturskolan@boras.se
Our school is located in three areas: Simonsland, Fristad, and Hässleholmen. All of our locations offer inspiring spaces with plenty of things to do while waiting for your class to begin.

What is Borås Kulturskola?
Answer: We provide courses in aestethic orientations such as music, theater, dance, art, photography & moving images, textile & design and contemporary circus. All courses takes place after school and they are not mandatory. You can find all courses in our course catalogue. External link, opens in new window.
Who can apply to your school?
Answer: Borås Kulturskola is primary for children and youth registered in the city of Borås. We do not offer courses on regular basis to adults. The only course we provides to adults is our choir for adults.
Which courses do you provide and how much are the fees?
Answer: You can find all of our courses in our course catalogue. Our fees are determined by The Cultural Services Committee, you can find all fees below:
- 300:- Semester fee - music/dance/drama/cirkus
- 500:- Semester fee - craft creation
- 700:- Semester fee - advanced course (music, dance, drama)
- 400:- Semester fee (Adult) - choir/orchestra
- 800:- Semester fee (Adult) - music
- 200:- Rental fee/semester and instrument
- 500:- Late fee regarding instruments that has not been submitted in time
Where is the education located?
Answer: When booking a course you can find all information regarding age, location and fees in the course information. Our courses are mainly located in our three supply points:
- Simonsland, Skarabporgsvägen 1B, centrum
- Hässlehuset, Våglängdsgatan 5, Hässleholmen
- Musikens Hus, Stora vägen 4, Fristad
We cannot always provide courses at your school due to several circumstances such as logistic, schedule et cetera. Therefore be sure to plan that the course will take place at any of the supply points stated above.
